Asbestos Testing and Advice
A wide variety asbestos containing construction products were used in Australia and are likely to be present in houses constructed prior to 1990. Testing is a quick and relatively inexpensive way to be certain about what you’re dealing with and to ensure the safety of everyone involved. We can advise you on the number of test samples required and arrange for safe collection for laboratory analysis.
Even if an experienced tradesman has an opinion on whether asbestos is present or not, the only way to be certain is through NATA approved laboratory testing. You can presume materials do contain asbestos, and follow all the requirements for safe asbestos removal, BUT you can never presume asbestos is not present! We never recommend you put the health and safety of your family at risk over an opinion.
